Changing your site's language

Your wedding site has a language setting, separate from the language you see in your own dashboard. It controls the wording Nupta supplies — section headings, button labels, the RSVP form, dates — on the page your guests read.

The three options

• English
• Filipino
• A natural mix of the two — the way most Filipino couples actually write to their own families

The mix is the default, because it is what reads most naturally to a Filipino guest list. If that is not how you want to sound, change it.

Where to change it

You choose during setup, and you can change it afterwards in Settings at any time. Changing it takes effect on your published page straight away.

For a while this could only be set during setup, so couples who clicked past that step had no way back. That is fixed — the setting lives in Settings now.

What it changes, and what it does not

It changes the words Nupta supplies.

It does not change your words. Anything you have typed yourself — your story, your headings, your FAQ answers, your custom sections — is left exactly as you wrote it, in whatever language you wrote it in.

So you can run a Filipino site with an English FAQ, or the reverse, and nothing will overwrite what you typed. If you have renamed a heading, your version wins in every language.

Dates

Dates follow the setting too. English and the mixed option keep English month names, because that is how people say a date out loud even in a Filipino sentence. Filipino uses Filipino month names throughout.

A note on some words

A few words stay in English on a Filipino site on purpose — RSVP among them. The direct translations read like machine output rather than like a person writing to their family, and guests recognise the English word immediately.

Your dashboard stays English

The editor, your guest list and your settings are always in English regardless of this setting. It applies only to the site your guests see.
