Gifts and printing
Setting up gifts: GCash, Maya, bank accounts and registries
How to tell guests where to send a gift, what Nupta does and does not handle, and how to word it without awkwardness.
The gifts section tells guests how to send something if they want to. It is optional, and plenty of couples leave it off entirely.
Nupta never touches the money
Worth saying first, because people assume otherwise. Nupta does not process gifts. What the section holds is your own account details and a QR image you upload — a guest reads it and sends money through their own app, directly to you. Nothing passes through Nupta, and Nupta takes nothing.
What you can list
You are not limited to a fixed set of wallets. Each entry has a label you type yourself and whichever fields apply:
- GCash and Maya — a name, a number, and a QR image
- A bank account — BPI, GoTyme, whichever you use: a name and an account number
- A payment link — PayPal, Ko-fi, Wise, a bank's own payment page
- A QR on its own, if that is all you have
Add as many as you want. Every field is optional, so an entry with only a QR works, and so does one with only a link.
Registries
You can also point guests at a store, a wishlist, or a cause you would rather they gave to. These sit alongside the account details as their own list, with your own wording.
Uploading a QR
Screenshot the QR from your banking or wallet app and upload it. Two things to check:
- Crop out everything but the code. A screenshot of your whole phone screen shows your balance and your transaction history.
- Open your published page and scan it yourself, with a different phone, before you send the link to anyone. It is the one thing on your site that has a right and a wrong answer.
Wording it
This is the section couples rewrite most, and shorter is better. A line acknowledging that presence is the gift, followed by the details for anyone who asks, does the whole job. Guests who want to give will find the details; guests who do not will not feel billed.
You can write that line yourself — the section carries your own note above the accounts.
If you have no details to give yet
Until you add an account, a link or a registry, the section shows guests a short note saying gift details are coming soon. It is there so an empty section does not look broken, and it disappears on its own the moment you add anything.
If you would rather it were not there at all — because your own wording already says what you want, or because you are asking for envelopes on the day — untick Show a "gift details coming soon" note, just under your gift message. Your message stays exactly as you wrote it.
Guests still bring envelopes
Many will, especially older relatives, and the section does not change that. What it does is give the people who would rather not carry cash a way to ask nobody an awkward question.
